LANSING – State Representative Richard E. Hammel (D-Mt. Morris Twp.) will hold a town hall meeting on Monday, Oct. 22, to help residents learn how to stay safe while using the Internet.
"On Guard Online - A Cyber Safety Overview" will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Clio High School, One Mustang Drive.
Hammel will be joined by an expert from the Michigan Department of Information Technology who will discuss "7 Habits for Safer Computing" and the "STOP * THINK * CLICK" strategy. Hammel will also discuss legislation that aims to protect residents from identity theft by safeguarding their personal information. The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer period.
